On initial pour: purple red, some sediment apparent at margins. Black currant note in nose with some funk and raspberry. Leather, earth and cherry pit and cherry fruit leather flavors, a bit tart, moderate skin astringency on finish. Orange peel aftertaste. Decanting: wet concrete aroma emerges, along with black pepper flavor on finish. Plum and cherry fruit flavors gradually emerge after three to five hours. A pleasant but serious and very structured Bordeaux: tannin-forward, decent acidity, delayed and diminished fruit expression.

Nose has blueberry jam smeared on tanned leather, cold blackberries, dry potting soil and seasoned oak firewood.

Palate has blackberry jam, dried black currant, blackberry fruit leather (if anyone actually makes that, like I need some), well roasted pepper, moist garden soil with medium-light tannins.

A fantastic pairing to home-made meat loaf this evening, a beef/pork blend from our best upstate NY purveyors, delicious!

Last bottle of a 6-pack procured in February 2015, at $17 Médoc is always a good region to buy and hold. In proper storage this can go thru 2025+.

This is a hard wine to judge as it needs about 3 hours to open up. ...after that, it's quite nice. Burnt sugar creme brûlée nose and a light but dry palate. A touch of bell pepper on the finish. I'd say this is a sophisticated table wine.

Pleasant on the nose, very fruity. Black cherry with plum. On the pallet not as strong, booze somewhat takes over, nice burn throughout and doesn’t dry the mouth too much. 2 sips so far and I like it. 50% merlot 45%CS 5%petit Verdot

Interesting. Nice dark fruits, mid palate enjoyment. Would think a tomato sauce dish would work well with this.

Light and fresh, low tannins and very easy to drink. May not be hearty enough for my steak, we’ll see. Cherry and plum, I’ll buy this in the future.

I quite like this for the price. Substantial tannins, smooth acidity, and full bodied though restrained fruit. I’m appreciative.

Mellow and fruity. I think. Drank post-Covid in the UK. Paid £16
