Chateau de l'Isle Fort
Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
Bordeaux, France
Had this sitting in the cellar. Dark red with jammy fruit aromas, slight spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry & currant, some sweetness, with licorice notes. Smooth tannins good balance, lingering finish ending with mineral and spice notes. Worth the wait.

Oct 16th, 2017Exceeded my expectations for the appellation - the chalky soil is evident but this is a fruit driven wine. The 30% Cab Franc comes through loud and clear. Solid buy at $14.

A decent no frills Bordeaux. Medium tannins, underwhelmed fruit and fairly high alcohol (14.5)
