Château de l'Etoile
Côtes du Jura Trousseau
Similar notes to prior bottle opened about one year earlier, but this is showing as fresher and more lively, Yum!
Nose has maraschino cherry, white pepper, dry leather, dried red raspberry, distant barnyard, dried orange peel, granite quarry and dry earth.
Palate has dried cherry, dried raspberry, white chocolate, sweet red pepper, black cherry, old leather with medium acidity. This bottle is showing decent tannins, 3H decant. Enjoy 2022-24, in proper storage.
Our second successful preparation of this dish tonight; chicken, apples and cremé à la normande (cream, onion, mushroom & calvados), Jura looks to accompany cremé & calvados just fine.

Beautiful transparent Garnet color in the glass.
Nose has cherry skin, white pepper, old leather and dried orange peel.
Palate has dried cherry, over-ripe cherry, white pepper, light vanilla notes with a medium finish. Decent acidity but it trails away quickly.
Bought a couple of these three years ago, just getting to them now, perhaps they overstayed their visit in the cellar. Life gets busy, bottles get overlooked, the world has bigger problems.

Light tannins, some vegetal green notes. Bright acidity. 11.5%. Bitter finish so would pair well with hard cheese.

Jan 21st, 2017Light bodied and simple when first poured. Really liked this by the end, even on a winter night. Had it w a nice roasted vegetable linguine (olive oil not red sauce). Really light almost clear red color. Nice fruit and while not terribly complex, finished with complimentary soft spice and lightly herb/green. Med Plus acidity. Great first Jura and first trousseau experience. Would be a home run on a hot summer night.
