Clear, bright, purple in color with pink rim, medium viscosity. Nose: powerful, young and super ripe. Almost smells like a zin. On the crazy fruity side for burgundy. Ripe raspberry and blueberry. Slightly floral, spicy and herbal. Stones and dust like crushed pebbles. Forest floor and turned earth. French oak. The palate is very consistent with the nose. Dry, med- body, very ripe blueberries, blueberry jam and raspberry jam/preserves. Dried mixed berries as well. Fresh rubber, white pebbles and forest floor with turned soil. Brown sugar and a touch of caramel add a nice finish from oak. Tannins are med+, super grippy. Med alcohol, high acid, long finish with med + complexity. Needs time to soften.

Tasting the 2018 vintage on a leisurely wander through Santenay. Fabulous wine from an unusual terroir. 2018 is going to be amazing
