Wine guy at Whole Foods recommended it to go in my Sauerbraten as it would be good for braising. Color is a nice red with good clarity. Aroma is oak, leather, allspice, hint of caramel, cherry and plum. Taste is a balance between dark fruit (cherry, raisin, blackberry) and moderate oaky tannin with neither one overpowering the other. Pretty good safe wine that should be excellent to cook with.

Nice young Bordeaux: gritty & tannic, but good balance. Probably not much in the way of staying power, but drinking nicely now.
