Right in the drinking window. Fine tannins. Lovely with lamb.

Aromas of cherry, tarragon, and pine. More tart acidity than is cared for, emblematic of its vintage. Cranberry, cherry, and anise on the pallate. Short finish

It was a good wine and not a great wine. As a Bordeaux lover, it pains me to say that. I had the 2011 and it was lighter than air. I expect my wines to have a little more body. Young, mild bouquet with tart on the palate. Easy drinking.

A cacao-and-blackberry jammy cab blend trades off with something more woody and vegetable (green bell pepper hinted at but not annoying; definitely something bitter). A long finish that's all fine tannins and lingering berries.

Med intensity garnet; medium to high intensity aromas of plums, baked fruit, mushrooms, nutmeg; low to medium intensity, medium tannins, medium body, some vanilla and oak. Very nice body for a merlot based wine with nice complexity and a great price.
