St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend

A very nice biodynamic wine . Missing a little cab franc in the blend . But nice with food , a little bitter on the finish for me .

22 EUR and organic. Decent but not particularly complex or interesting esp for the price

Slightly metallic at first but opens up to deep red wine with meaty flavors.

Not the most typical blend for St.-Emilion - cabernet sauvignon instead of franc for the non-merlot component according to the back label. Maybe that's what's giving it its green streak, starting as a little bell peppery and maybe also a little weedy in those moments when it gets a little more grating. It really needs food to be enjoyable, and at that point it picks up a very nice refined elegance and the gentle red fruit overtakes the green.

Smooth, but very dry. No fruit. Not terrible, but not my style either. Recommend drinking with food.
