Nose of over ripe red apple, dulche de leche, candy corn, dark honey, oxidative notes.
Palate, honeyed, apricots, passion fruit, all the things you'd expect. In the middle of the fruit there's a bitter almond core that starts mid taste and walks through the finish. This ended up being very bitter the more I drank. 2001 vintage. I would not have it again

Honey, ripe banana, apricot with a hint of fully ripen pineapple. Lacks a bit of acidity for a Sauterne but goes well with fois gras (well it is very very cold in Canada). Nice combo.

My perfect bottle of a Sauterne with age. Still fresh, with dried stone fruit including apricots. Lightly nutty. Weighty, but not cloying.
