Bright cantaloupe orange. Gentle nose of watermelon and Royal Anne cherries. Medium (almost full) palate echoes the nose, but with an unwelcome dose of heat (14.5% ABV); no doubt a product of the warm 2020 growing season and Baux’s naturally warm and dry climate. Medium acidity. Way too much alcohol on this for a refreshing sipper. This is strictly a meal rosé, and one that could stand a good decanting at that. Skip the salad and head straight for the heavy, red-fleshed fish and lighter cuts of beef. Drink now.
