Last night we had close friends over and I stopped to buy a bottle for the gathering. I picked up a Jeraboam of the 2012 Château D'Aiguilhe Comtes Von Neipperg which is made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The aromas are of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, black currant, chocolate, violet, mint, baking spice and earth.
On the palate the nose is confirmed with notes of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spices and wet gravel.
This wine went over very well with our guests though unable to finish the whole jeraboam. The wine is full bodied and very velvety with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that lead into a chocolatey fruit filled finish.
