Drank 7/8/19. Happy 3rd to My daughter!! Very nice with a T-bone. (She enjoyed pizza!)

Plums, earth, and graphite on the classic right bank nose. Flavors of plum, BlackBerry, and soggy earth mix with well integrated medium tannins. Medium + finish dominated by black fruit, tar, and earth. Drinking nicely now, but should hold for 3-5 years.

A good quality wine. Medium bodied. Nice nose and tastes good.

100% merlot - espresso and mineral on the nose with black plum skin, black cherry, cassis. Full, ripe, well-balanced on palate. Tricked up both of my fellow somm-wanna-bes at our biweekly blind tasting. #sommstudy

Bouquet opens nicely. Very smooth.

Given for our 2015 birthdays from Sabine and Maarten with the 2005. Opened 1/2/2016 at kalaloch -did quasi vertical tasting. Nose: berry, smoke, nut, strawberry-rhubarb pie, vanilla. Taste: SPICY, dark cherry, wood smoke, pine. Very full but not a heavy finish. May be the smokey-est wine we have ever tasted. (Would be excellent with steak!)
