Dark Ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Earthy nose with barnyard, oak, vanilla, licorice, blackberries, green peppers, plums, currants, vanilla, cherries, black pepper, forest floor, chocolates, earth and dirt.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and some light legs.

Sour on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, tart cherries, cranberries, raspberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, pencil lead, dirt, bell pepper, smoke and black pepper.

Medium finish with green, yet firm tannins, and tart strawberries.

A Drinkable red blend from France. Unbalanced, with a nice mouthfeel, but too tart to be had by itself. Better with hard cheeses or chicken dishes.
I paired it with a cheese and crackers plate, and a chicken flatbread.

It was better after 30 minutes in a decanter than later on. Too acidic for my taste.

A blend of 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.

13% alcohol by volume.

"PNP. Fairly translucent. Could easily see the stem through the wine. Not terribly complex. I was unable to pick out any meaningful flavors. Same with the aromas... Not much to speak of. Certainly an acceptable glass with a weeknight dinner, but nothing to be admired."

Lame. Not offensive, but nothing really here.

Didn't blow my socks off, but it's decent.

Monday night wine and cheese. Smooth and tasty and under $10. That's right! 2012 is just as good as 2009.
