I bought this on a whim at K&L a couple weeks ago as I trust Clyde and the Bordeaux values he brings in. It's not going to blow you away but at $19.99 for a 96 Bordeaux, it's pretty good. This 96 has held up nicely. I'm pretty sure Clyde bought it directly from the Chateau. There is good bottle evolution. Fruits are still very solid. Dry blackberries, dark cherries, cherries, dark raspberries on the back palate, dry dark powdery minerals, dry black earth, tough leather, lead pencil, dry stems, finish is decent but the acidity could be just a bit better. For under $20, there's nothing to complain about. It over-delivers at $20. You'll still want to decant this for an hour.

Mystery wine at Tapanappa vertical tasting. Leather and spice with hints of mint on the nose. Still plenty of life in it at 22 years old; I’m sure the magnum helps.

Not bad for a 20 year old Bordeaux, especially given how little I paid for it. Subtle red fruits with nice tannins and still some freshness. Only 12,5% alcohol.
