Château Beauséjour
Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend
2017 vintage. Property of the Sudrat- Melet family who also owns Chateau Belair in Pomerol. Mainly Merlot (85%), with Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). More power than elegance, maybe a bit overextracted, but a solid effort for less than 10 euro if you like the style. Abv. 14%.

Nov 8th, 2020Tasted blind. CDR, not close but the foundation was there. Next morning, red berry fruit dominant, black end, round tannin, lacks the structure of Pomerol. 85 merlot/15 cab/5 cf, not much oak, ripe flavors, meat, pasta with bolognese, or ragus, duck, lamb, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, probably under $15, great deal.
