Decided to give this another try. Just six months earlier, it was hard to drink. Now, it's quite good. Leather, spice and herbaceous aromas. Meaty black fruits on the palate with lingering soft chewy tannins. The great thing about wine is it's living and changing.

Fragrant aromas of tobacco and dark fruits belies the initial harshness right after the bottle was opened. The harsh tannins soften after decanted an hour, however, it's a bit disjointed with lots of apparent wood overpowering the fruit. Still shows promise and I hope that a couple more years of bottle age will better integrate the flavors. I hope so; I have 5 more bottles.

Back to the old country left bank of the Gironde. I love Bordeaux wines from haut Medoc. But a bit disappointed. Great nose, spicy, mineral. But the wine never opened up much.
