Soft and fragrant. Cedar, wet gravel, soft plummy fruit. So nice with lamb shanks!

Oct 21st, 2018I got in on this one towards the finish. Served blind. My guess was northern Rhone Syrah as it seemed to have a hotter type of character to it with a little bit of savory notes on the nose and entry. The middle of this Wayne developed a hint of herbaceous nest, tobacco, hint of mushroom and starting to get a little bit of that brett influence. Finished with more of a medium-bodied character. Not really a whole lot of sweet fruit going on here.... This one was a little bit dark and dank. I do not believe this wine is going to get any better in the bottle although it's good cellaring there's probably five to seven more years left.
