Côtes de Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend

Deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits, spice and dried herbs, some Cabernet Franc in blend. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and ripe cherry with cedar spice and forest herbs. Fine firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, cedar and earthy character.

Dark ruby in color with a red rim.

The Weirdest nose of blackberries, pickle juice, smoked meat, cherries, mint, light vanilla, cooked plums and spices.

Medium-bodied and smooth with high acidity.

The Complete opposite on the palate. Tart and dry, with sour strawberries, cherries, cranberries, licorice, spices, light oak and white pepper.

Long sour finish with tart berries.

Not one for sipping by itself, but rather a better food wine.
Not my taste, mainly because of the sour ending, but I liked the velvety mouthfeel. Has a nice structure to it, as well. A nice value right bank, Bordeaux.

A blend of 95% Merlot 5% Cabernet Franc.

13% alcohol by volume.

(*) innocuous punch of loganberry and purple Kool Aid.

Very light and fruity

Slightly transparent burgundy colour, pepper and dried fruit on the nose, slightly tannic, not very long in the mouth. Would be nice with pasta and tomato sauce

Malbec 80% cab franc 20% from Castillo near Saint Émilion.
Nose cassis, palette fresh and juicy blackberry and black currant and jam. Malbec gives this one a good backbone. Medium ++ tannin medium/medium low acid. Good value

Good Bordeaux. Cassis, not to dry tannin and has that slight maturity that indicates it will improve with time
