Charles Smith
Stoneridge Vineyard Syrah
Big surprise! The scent was floral, violets and perhaps some green herbs. But the first sip… straight pipe tobacco laced by dark blue berry and unripe fig. Where was that jammyness we noticed a few years ago? It drank quite addictive, though. Complex and intriguing.

Aug 9th, 2022Rich juice squeezed from the Royal Slope in Columbia Basin. A sweet edge upfront turned into an earthy, mineral plethora of flavors with very soft tannins fully integrated. Pleasant finish. I had to score it high because it vanished pretty much by it selves. Nice start to the Easter weekend that concluded a week with a kick in the rear from my second Covid shot that took a few days to shake off.

Apr 3rd, 2021Rich, full bodied and voluptuous. Phenomenal nose. In your face, penetrating tannins integrated with dark jammy fruit. Ripe blackberry rules.

Feb 16th, 2019What a nose!! What an explosion on your first sip. From center of your mouth to your cheeks. Beautifully balanced dark fruit, hints of plum, dark cherry and sun dried hay. Spicy on the finish. Why did share this with Tammy??

One of the top Syrahs I've had, glad @Rob Brobst III shared this one, I'll have to explore more Washington Syrah,
