Nose is rich marzipan and plum, fresh baked bread, fruit preserve. Palate is surprisingly dry, but satisfyingly complex with tart plum, fresh mulled earth, dark red cherries, and a pleasing tannic grip. The finish is surprisingly clean, leaving me wanting more. A lovely Riserva... Does the job just fine.
