Ortas Tradition Rasteau Red Rhone Blend

A Rhone blend of Grenache 70%, Syrah 20% and Mourvèdre 10% Ruby with aromas of red fruits, spice and herbs. On the palate cherry flavors with dried herbs and pepper notes. Firm tannins, lively acidity, medium finish ending with fruit and pepper spice.

Ripe black cherry/raspberry sauce, smoke, meat, game, violets, bitter chocolate. Humongous value.

TW. Interesting. Smooth but spicy.

Nice with Oka cheese or a milder blue. Good value. I'll buy again.

Spicier, cherry, blackberry, tobacco, DELICIOUS

Very enjoyable CdR. More on the spicy/earthy side with some grainy tannins.

Rich blackberry aroma, bringing in some raspberries and mint on the palate. The acidity is moderate and balanced. The tannins are moderate at first and then get stronger and drier towards the finish, which has spice, then black pepper, iron filings, and alcohol. Overall I liked this and enjoyed it with my gf while we ate an assortment of chocolate cookies from Whole Foods.

Well blended and easy to drink, best paired with food due to the higher alcohol content, but presents a complex flavor profile reflective of its old vine terrier.
