Dense purple-red, high pigment extraction. Black currant and briar notes in nose. Blueberry, raspberry, cherry and violet flavors, good acidity but tannin bomb on initial pour. Rounded mouthfeel after decanting an hour, black pepper flavor and moderate skin astringency remain. Barrel smoke emerges after two hours.
