‘Product of Washington’ but cellared and bottled in Geyserville, California. This wine has been around. Black label front and back, sleek. Dark as night in the glass. Smells ‘winey’. It’s got fruit syrup, fruit flavored balsamic, and some cedar perhaps. Flavors are very balanced and fairly nuanced. Has a hint of that sagebrush that some WA Merlot brings. Also nice black currant thing they always say with Cab. Also a hint of black licorice. Plenty of tannins and a nice zing on the tongue. This is a great affordable blend made with a deft hand. Substantial but not overwhelming. Funny it’s got 10% Pinot and 10% Syrah. Only in America...
The website says the Founder and President is Greg Popovich. No, not that NBA great ‘Pop’, but hell with that name you’re good to go in my book!
