Castillo de Monseran
Old Vine Cariñena Garnacha
Very nice dark fruit and tobacco. Well balanced. Juicy with light smooth tannins.

1 person found it helpfulSep 20th, 20132007 corked today along with angus ribeye. Great foil against the cracked pepper/sea salt spicing on that steak. Tannins get my attention, in a good way. Nose is jammy on a tobacco cloud, this one drinks nice and dry with dark fruit and enough spice to handle a real nice cut of cow. Not sublime maybe, but a very nice pour of grape.

May 11th, 2018Slight oak comes through along with some kind of red berry...cranberry or currant perhaps. A light finish not lingering very long. Went very well with my medium rare New York Striploin.

Mar 6th, 2016My first thought was that this was just strangely vegetal, but it wasn't long before I realized it had gone bad. Strange for a young wine, but there was no doubt. It was early in the corked phase but beyond drinkable.
