Dark red fruits, elegant with some sweet spice (vanilla). A hint of wet forest.

Attended a tasting a local shop with the winemaker. The weather was crappy but that ended up being lucky as not very many people showed up, so I got to talk to the producer about her wines for over an hour. This is a single vineyard production they don't make in every vintage. Blend is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Mammalo (a local grape I had never heard of). This is a complex and elegant wine with red fruit, violet, vanilla, and dark chocolate notes. Nice lingering finish. Will plan to stop here when I get to Tuscany!
