2009. When decanted, the wine was almost port-like on the nose with no finish… patience paid off, a little, and other aromas and flavors grew in after an hour or so and some tannins came along too. Not nearly as good as the last Barolo I pulled, but it paired well with a long simmered tomato sauce with penne and Italian sausages.
