Cantine Mimmo Paone ‘Casale Di Mimmo’ Mamertino Di Milazzo 2012: Medium-bodied. Soft tannins. Ripe reduced flavors of black cherry, plum, dried fruits, leather & tobacco. Medium finish. Consisting of a bold combination of 70% Nero D’Avola & 30% Nocera, this Sicilian red blend displayed subtle flavors and not the pureness/boldness you would expect to find in a Nero. I honestly expected more; was waiting for that big bold burst of dark fruits with each sip however it never arrived. Guess the bottle was cellared too long! Regardless, the wine was fair and most likely past it’s peak. Cheers🍷
