Carcavelos Ramisco

Nose smells like candied pineapple, oxidized peach, and candied ginger. The palate is verrry herbal, mint basil and star anise. Funky salt cod mid palate. Bitter lemon pith finish.

Unbelievable! A statement in the beginning, followed by roasted chestnuts that are maybe a little candied; beautiful lingering finish that is warm to the soul. Simply divine!

It's a wine not for from Lisbon, from a small town named Carcavelos. It a style you can compare like a Madeira. Slightly sweet on the pallet with superb finish. Excellent with strong cheese . Must try, If you can find it. It makes me smile ;-)
