Wine opened up after half an hour and what a wonderful blend of cherry, wood and spice.

Beautiful second wine of Clos Apalta. The nose is expressive yet delicate, with cassis, blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, incense, touch of herbal spices, and hint of dry lavender. The full body is finely tuned like a long distance runner without any bulkiness. Soft and expansive palate, with polished tannins.
For 2015 it contains an unusually high 47% Carmenere. 6 months in 225 lt new French oak barrel, and another 17 months in French oak barrels, 22% new.
Nothing petit about this wine!
