Holds its 15.7% ABV really well. Would have never guessed. Heavier and spicier than the Carlisle Piner-Olivet it was next to. Age has given this a bit of a softened/older tobacco note. Plum, black cherry, overripe blackberries.

So tasty - served w/ grilled, hoisin sauce chicken thighs. Very nice - great body & berry fruit still!

Tasty red fruits…lite, non-distracting tannins…deep ruby color…

Second bottle opened for the Ladies' steak Night. I did get to sample this one. Plenty of fruit but not cloying or heavy. @Matt Austin nailed it in a previous post with "Comfort food in a glass." Great QPR to boot.

May 10th, 2017Clove. Star anise. Warmth. The acid that holds this wine together is stunning. At 15.7 abv (shows a little on the nose, but more on the finish) this is not a shy wine. Kudos Mike for giving 0 F's and making balanced killer Cali old vine zin.

Black fruit nose, youthful (obviously) well rounded with black fruit, tobacco, leather. Good Zin. Swigable.
