Deep plumb color. If I remember correctly, this is a blend of the '05 thru '08 vintages, of which I'm only familiar with the '05. Didn't decant, but gave about an hour to breath. Similar on the nose to what I remember from the '05 but not as deep or intense. Raisin, fig, plum, black licorice, anise and alcohol. I have a feeling that had I decanted it a lot if the alcohol would've blown off. Smooth entry, and full bodied. Ripe dark fruit, with a big tannic, spicy finish. Drinking well but could definitely mellow for a few years. With 5-7 yrs it might get really interesting given the relative balance on the mid palate currently. 89

Mar 4th, 2014Vanilla toast, apricot, tastes and smells similar to port. Like vanilla raisin bread pudding or Creme brûlée, finishes nice and easy, no lingering sugar. My kinda dessert.
