This was a fun wine.. Still hanging on. Lots of olive tapenade, black fruit(subdued) and nice acid. Wish I had another..

Supposedly from Bien Nacido. Medium bodied, with balanced fruit, earth and acid. On day 2, it really opens up with black fruit, menthol, and leather. Still has plenty of life and legs. Put it away and forget about it. Definitely an old world food wine.

Like a Bordeaux. Balanced with good fruit and soft tannin. Nose of forest and mushrooms. Short on finish though. Good food wine.

Tasting like a Bordeaux. Could age a few more years.

Thick and rustic but extremely pleasant. Lots of fruit with hints of forest floor.

Tasted blind, and thought it was much younger than 2005. It was somehow rustic with a new world finesse. Wet earth, dark berries, great tannins. And for $16? Yes please!

Pretty great right now. Forest floor and simultaneously smooth and rustic.

Barely drinkable. I have been to the winery and like their rustic style. Their aglianico was good. Not so much this merlot.
