I don’t know what to say about this wine. It’s not bad. But it’s so bitter that it’s hard to imagine anything that will pair well with it. It’s not bitter in an overly tannic way. It’s just a bitter grape. To top it off, there’s a disconnect between the bitterness and the relatively light body and color. I’m usually a fan of weird grapes, but there’s probably a good reason why this one is obscure.

Shimmering light ruby color, bright fruit and crisp acidity. Delicious with both shrimp with chorizo over squid ink pasta and rare duck breast. Super versatile!

2014 Cantrina Valtenesi (Groppello). Really good. Don't remember having a Groppello before. Strawberries, red fruits, reminds one of a Good Beaujolais.

Super fine and elegant. Red fruit, with silky tannins and fine acidity, superbly structured.
