Gorgeous if a bit ripe nose of dark berry and red cherry fruit. Really pushing the ripeness but it still works as it also has that vulcanized rubber thing that really fine Barbera has. Smoke and flowers as well. Juicy and fresh but showing that 14.5% in the form of major heat. Let’s see there this lands but so far not the best. Nose became less ripe and more floral and palate came together a bit more but still an 8.7 but not as messy as it was on the PNP.

Really very nice - first time having his Barbera. Surprisingly ready without a significant decant. Was a bit worried about heat on the finish but was pleasantly surprised - would have guessed this was closer to 13% than 15%. Quite seamless on the palate. Nice pairing with a simple meal of grilled sausages and radicchio. Excellent value.
