12, dark and ripe.. But round and smooth. Cool expression for Grenache

I really enjoyed this wine. Aroma is a bit earthy- raspberry and black pepper. Crisp mouth feel with ripe cherry flavor. Finish doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, oak and black pepper. Overall a great Grenache!

Nice nose. Solid, save a jammy finish that was not pleasing to me. Maybe that will mellow with time but I won’t buy more.

When originally opened it was too jammy and smacked us in the face with fruit. We pumped it and let it sit for maybe 5 days because we just weren’t that interested. I thought it was probably no good after so long but turns out it had improved substantially. Light bodied, mellow fruitiness, much more approachable. I would say this vintage could afford to lay down for a year or two.

Incredibly light for a Grenache. Lacking the richness I was hoping for. Fruity, mild tannins. Still, went down easy.

Meh, a little sweet aftertaste. Grows on you. Drinkable though 🤷‍♀️

It's pretty good at $35, but it's not quite on the level of some of the other (admittedly higher priced) Grenache coming out of Paso either. A bit spicy; dark ruby color; ripe fruit. I believe standalone Grenache is new for Calcareous, and am curious to see how they improve it (or blend it with other grapes) in future vintages.
