A full throttle, lush, savory Syrah. Smashed berry and dried herbs with an incredible meaty arc. Young.

2008 vintage. Fresh as a daisy. Drinking more like a pinot. Feel like it needs another 3-5 years to transition into some semblance of maturity. Delicious but would have had difficulty believing this was a Syrah blind tasting it. Hasn’t developed that Côte-Rôtie balance-yet.

2009 vintage. Mixed and pleasant Bordeaux/Burgundy nose. Medium body. Old leather, dust, menthol, dark plum, earthy flavors. Seems to be in a good spot currently…with the sustain lasting another 5-7 years on this plateau.

Morello cherry, chocolate. Medium bodied, not shy. Needed at least 2 hours of decant before hitting its stride (otherwise was coming across quite acidic).

Definitely needed about an hour of decant, otherwise it came across as unapproachably hot. After an hour, it calmed down - still very bold, big, and sturdy.

As always, a very meaty Syrah, but much mellower than the younger vintages. Also, there was some gorgeous forest floor going on here.

Not too many Napa Syrah's out there, and this one was an absolute gem. Wish it wasn't a club member only offering.

This is not a Syrah for vegetarians...this is a meat product. (2005 vintage)
