Deep rich Crimson. Touch of vanilla after decanting which blew off. Notes of Pipe Tobacco Baking spices and mineral. Was worried about the 2014 vintage which was poor in many parts of Italy but the process of Passito and the added concentration turned this into a wonderful wine. Perfect with Linguini Reggiano and fresh Tasmanian fine Truffle slices in the finest Olive Oil Bellissimo!!

Made in a fruit-centered, modern version where loads of cherries and blackberries are balanced by sweet, ripe tannins, juice acidity and bitter chocolate flavors. Traces of VA and somewhat hit on the back palate. Individual. That said, I'll personally only digest it if somebody else is paying.

Silky and smooth with rounded-off tannins, fresh and cherry-dominated acidity, supporting its plush and forward personality. Lacking authenticity, but modern and well made, though slightly boring.

Nice amarone where the acidity brings it all together. Elegant wine!

Drank 7/7/17 with Redwine braised shortribs. 20 min decant
Nose of violets and red cherry. Medium bodied palate of red cherry liquer and over ripe-plums. Light, soft tannins. Not terribly interesting, and without the structure to stand up to the fruit. More of a new world style. Drinks below it's price point.
