Drunk with Jim and Suzanne Dunn. Post birthday bottle. Not often you get a 14 year old Lombard wine but this cab, merlot blend is interesting. Great smoky, coffee mocha nose. Plummy fruit with some earth, spice and leathery notes. Not a long finish but pleasant all the same. Mature and in need of drinking.

Unusual, pretty good. Quite strong, with mild to medium tannins. (From D) Wikipedia: "Bordeaux-style Rosso based on either Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon or both, and Merlot, with smaller amounts of Nebbiolo and Barbera. Pinot noir is permitted only in the DOCG sparkling wines, with no option of a Burgundian-style still red wine under the DOC rules."
