This is the 2000 Burge Family Winemakers Garnacha Barossa Valley Old Vine Grenache. Beautiful wine still showing stewed black fruit, leather, funk, white pepper, and sweet baking spice. Palate is mouthfilling and dense with a bit of black licorice, espresso, toffee, and milk chocolate. Finish is long and pleasant. This 14 yr old wine is one of the best-aging varietal garnachas I've found. Very nice.
