Umm.. quite possibly my new house red. Rosenthal knows how to pick ‘em. Everything you want in a solid Chianti or Langhe Nebbiolo but from ultra unsexy Oltrepo Pavese in Lombardy (croatina, barbera, uva rara blend). All the acid you want in your northern Italian reds, but without the sometimes pesky green or harsh, drying Nebbiolo/ Sangiovese tannins. Red and black cherry, red and black currant, star anise, rose petal, with subtle herbal/earthy edge. Highly quaffable. Made for pizza / pasta nights.
