A dusky pale purple with a wide brim and an intense nose of spice, blackberry, grilled meat, and some dry grass. This may not make the most sense in the world but there is nothing remarkable about this bottle, it just happens to be really good Syrah and I loved every second of it. Very well balanced wine with slightly elegant tannins and medium acidity. Plenty of cracked black pepper, smoke, burnt toast, and tobacco to accompany the fresh dark fruits on the palate. Just a delicious expression of Saint-Joseph.
