Brokenwood
The Bunkhouse Hunter Valley Sémillon
Quite an interesting wine.. classic to Hunter Valley for sure. It has this musky, wool like aroma laced with fresh lemon zest, key lime juice, chamomile, dusty topsoil, and white pepper. The pallet is full of bright zippy acidity, which is MUCH more palatable at a slightly warmer temp, where all the flavors and aromas start to reveal themselves - under ripe white pear, flint, lemon pith, creme, and a bright finish. Interesting to try one a week ago from Barossa Valley, and then one from its iconic home in Hunter Valley to compare the differences.
