Dec 9th, 2021Founded by Bruce Cohn in 1984, B.R. Cohn Winery is located in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. Sweet fruit aromas with floral scents. On the palate raspberry and strawberry flavors, almost jammy, lightly toasted vanilla oak notes with a touch of black pepper. Generous acidity with fine tannins, good balance on medium finish. Jun 21st, 2018Too young. Hot hot hot with a dark red shade, raspberry and rose on the nose and a tannic, woody, prune taste. It’s sticking to my gums and I’m not too happy about it. (Sample)

May 3rd, 2018Dark ruby in color with a wide light burgundy rim.
Nice nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, medicine, light earth, acetone and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice legs, smooth and gentle.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, currants, vanilla, wood, spices, peppercorn, green herbs and earth.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice surprise. This Californian Pinot Noir from the North Coast is well balanced with mild complexity and a gentle mouthfeel. Didn't like the nose as much. Nonetheless, I haven't seen many Pinot Noirs at this price point, as good.
Good by itself or with food. Needs 20 minutes of airtime to open up properly and show some tannins.
I paired it with light appetizers.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
$20.
