This is the first vintage of Kallisti oak fermented & barrelled, by Yianni Boutari & Yanni Voyatzi (currently the head Oenologist of Boutari). Slightly oxidative complex nose, with honey, salinity, roasted nuts, touch of waxy nose, with a medium body fascinating & delish... and with a vibrant acidity. Boutaris at least in Naoussa & Santorini has crafted some jewels, that are still alive & kicking even after 20-30 years.
The last one I've tasted with Yiannis Voyatzis 2 years ago at two4eight after decanting it 1 hour after Yannis advice. THANK YOU YIANNI & YANNI!

1989 Kalisti Boutari, a gift by Santorini's volcanic soil, climate and the people who put their blood sweat & tears into this wine. Who could expect Assyrtiko to last so long......
