Mar 29th, 2022Nose has candied pineapple, very ripe nectarine, straw bale, white/yellow flowers and lemon peel.
Palate has tangerine zest, Mandarin orange slice, under-ripe peach, wet river rocks, slightly waxy texture with a short finish.
Decanted 2H.
A quite youthful bottle, revisit 2026+
On point with the Spätlese style connection per Vinous comments.
Paired to Chicken Adobo (Milk Street recipe) and I'm convinced that coconut milk ingredient dishes are a perfect match to Riesling.
Nose has candied pineapple, very ripe nectarine, straw bale, white/yellow flowers and lemon peel.

Decanted 2H.

Palate has sweet dried peach slice, candied pineapple, ripe nectarine, lemon zest with a medium+ finish. Really starting to develop nicely...and of course, our last bottle on the vintage.
Generally these should hold a minimum of +10Y.
(We do have some other older vintages we're waiting out.) What a fantastic wine tonight!
Paired to sweet chilli chicken thighs (Dorie Greenspan, an absolute favorite cookbook author) to really cut the sweet heat of the dish. This halbtrocken Finger Lakes Riesling was a perfect match!

Perfect for a chill December afternoon, great with charcuterie, especially a well-aged, clothbound cheddar, it's crystalline texture makes a great pairing. No new wine notes on this today.

Trending more towards my last experience with the 2016 bottle, petrol is becoming more prominent. 🤓
Tart peach, petrol, tangerine, under-ripe tropical fruit, nice mineral notes.
