See prior notes on a few 2018's posted, but wow this bottle is amazing, 92+ for sure! Is 3.5-4Y the sweet spot? Probably!

Nose & Palate are ripe strawberry (80%), ripe banana (20%) and ripe red currant joins the palate party. Lively acid with a medium finish, this bottle is drinking wonderful at four years past vintage; this might be the sweet spot on this wine. Also of note, the extremely deep garnet hues!
The wine is 100% DeChaunac, a more common varietal for colder climates, like Ontario; fruit is sourced locally (FLX region) from Sheldrake Point.

Nose & Palate are still strawberry dominant, mostly dehydrated version, yet still lively fruit on the palate. Five years past vintage (inaugural release vintage) and it's not losing much to be honest.
Prior notes still mostly apply.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our conductors are David Newman and John Williams are leading a diverse program of cinematic works composed by John Williams entitled "Across The Stars: Music Of John Williams". We'll enjoy pieces from Star Wars (various episodes), Harry Potter, E.T., Memoirs of a Geisha and many others. All works to feature the violin virtuoso, Anne-Sophie Mutter, a personal favorite soloist of ours on these hallowed grounds. Mr. Williams has rearranged many of the selections today to better feature Ms. Mutter, an exciting afternoon will lay ahead. 🎼🎻

The 2018 may just be the finest version of this wine to date, so juicy and expressive on the palate, just beautiful for this warm afternoon.

Palate has sweet, but dry, strawberry, banana peel, under-ripe red currant and light green herb notes.
An interesting rose that I was able to get some more information about on my visit to the BB winery last Fall. The wine is 100% DeChaunac, a more common varietal for colder climates, like Ontario. The third vintage on this wine, fruit is sourced locally from Sheldrake Point.
This wine still wins the prize for about the darkest color of any rosé in our cellar. Light ruby, like a flawless stone you can see right through.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor David Newman is leading a live-to-picture performance of Leonard Bernstein’s score for “West Side Story”, originally directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, and with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.) The BSO installed very fancy and large LED screens on the perimeter of the Shed facing the Lawn, amazing!
Very strawberry, intense skin color extraction, very nice, in a year, I hope this is where the '16 is now. See my prior notes please.

Getting some air now on this bottle, so notes soon.
I spent way too much time mowing my lawn today, so time to relax in our low 80° temps today.
Holy moly, the color on this wine is crazy, they got a lot of extraction from the skins for sure. Light ruby, like a flawless stone you can see right through.
Nose is interesting with heavy strawberry and light banana notes.
Palate is very fruity, strawberry really dominates. First harvest strawberry, where the sweetness is still restrained, second harvest is always the most generous on flavor. Also faint tart cherry, fresh not dried, now showing with more air and warming of the wine.
This can easily become a staple rosé in our house, wow great bottle. Now I have to see if I can get more '16. This was their inaugural release, we acquired last Fall, BB has already moved on to '17.
