It was Weston’s hosting today for the Wednesday Wine Committee and probably the most informative lunch to date. Though everything was tasted “blind” as usual, we were all given a list of grapes to choose from for the whites and the reds, since they were all meant to be very similar.
After the Tempranillo, this was the easiest to guess. Dark, full, still acidic, and a slightly muted nose at first. I didn’t get a lot of olive or black pepper that I do out of many CdPs, but there was a bit of smoked meat and dark floral notes. Really enjoyed it.

Black cherry and berries on the nose, earth notes. Even after decanting still tight, tannin, Tobacco, will need time to develop.

2012 vintage - busting with fruit, lavender, tight grain tannins. Needs more time in cellar. Built to last.
