Now this is a new world Pinot Noir for me. Bold and fruit forward with black fruits, wood, spices, vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, earth and light vegetables.

Tangy and spicy, rich and extracted. Showing lots of acidity to make it lively and interesting.

A good sipping wine and very enjoyable by itself.

Good right out of the bottle and very tasty.

I paired it with a nice view of the lake.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Bolt to Wines Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2017, California

Dark purple in color with a purplish rim.

Strong nose of blueberries, plums, wood, licorice, alcohol, light vanilla, light barnyard, peppercorn, spices, earth, light vegetables, tobacco and chocolates.

Full bodied and soft with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, sweet cherries, vanilla, earth, wood, spices, vegetables, herbs, peppercorn, chocolates and tobacco.

Medium finish with soft tannins, peppercorn and cherries.

This is a nice surprise. A very tasty Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills in California. Not really drinking like a Pinot Noir, though. Drinks more like a Washington Syrah.

Easy drinking with a nice mouthfeel, and a spicy and tangy finish. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.

Good by itself as a sipping wine. A Pinot Noir not for the Pinot Noir drinker. Very unique.

Much better after 2 hours of airtime, although good right out of the bottle.

Made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes.
