Honeyed peaches, apricots, warm brioche bread with honeycomb and petrol. Loads of flowers..camomile and geranium, honeysuckle and iris all shine through. The residual sugar is there and that's undeniable and expected, but the acid comes through and coats everything making a balanced, beautiful finish. 2001 vintage that still shows plenty of youth!

Beautiful deep gold in color.
Very pronounced nose of diesel, lemons, peaches, melons, tropical fruits, bananas, minerals, barnyard, grass, red apples, spices, herbs and light pepper.
Medium bodied, buttery and smooth, with a nice high acidity, to balance out all that sweetness.
Medium sweet on the palate with lemons, citrus, tropical fruits, sea salt, cream, herbs, spices, peaches and tangerines.
Long finish with limes on the very ending.
What a gorgeous Riesling this 8 year old is. Probably the best I've had so far. Aged so nicely, with aromas and flavors that are not found otherwise in one that was not aged.
Beautiful balance and complexity and very enjoyable by itself.
I just sipped on it ,enjoying the beautiful weather we are having.

Open for 5 days and still hanging around last night so we drained it too. Best on days 2 & 3, good value Auslese that worked with Thai curry and lemon bars. Nothing too spectacular though. The Kabinetts from this lot were the best wines. Not ***
