Old Vine California Zinfandel

Rather light color. Spicy nose. Juicy and spicy with rustic finish. 2014 vintage.

Slightly better than 2015 - easy to drink

Full of ripe blackberry and black cherry goodness. Succulent and quaffable.

Peppery with a pleasant palate.

Nice and smooth! Not much bite, but that's fine. Surprisingly sweet, but palatable.

I found this wine to be particularity jammy, and with a strange metallic taste on the front of the palette. Mid-palette you got a fresh hit of raspberry, and then a finish with something like dried cherries or cranberries - quite tart, but aged. The finish was a blanket of vanilla extract - felt like oak was used to cover imperfections and poor balance. Unfortunately none of the cedar or spiciness mentioned by others - that would've helped balance the wine and make it more enjoyable!

We just like this as a go to red. Nice wine great company, it's good to be home.

Confirms my suspicion that I really like Zinfandel.
