Jammy nose or raspberry and blackberry. On the palate, more jam, but there's a lot more here. Nutmeg, white pepper, tomato plant, tobacco, bacon, and leather. Quite a pleasing expression held together with that Viognier. Medium-bodied with some light tannin and a lingering pepper note on the finish with the pepper. For me, this is an ideal wine to pair with dinner sausages. I almost want to "forget" a box of this in the cellar for a couple of years to see where this goes. Amazing when you can do this with a cheapie wine.
